Aksarben radio club held a field day 2004 and standing bear lake recreation area in north west Omaha . Usually field day takes place when the temperatures are in the high nineties are even up to 100° . This year whether was more favorable in the temperatures in the nighttime got down to 48° and the high during the day was around 75°. |

A total of three towers were erected with beams that covered a variety of different bands . There were about a dozen tents set up by those who were planning on staying overnight . Three ARC trailers were used to haul out all the equipment . |

This photo was taken during the noon time lunch break . The facilities at this park are very good and there was ample shade and as you see the covered dining areas and everyone had a good time . There was plenty of space for hard shell campers as you can see in the right of the picture . Remember Field Day is always the last Saturday and Sunday of June every year . Join us next year and you too can have a memorable event, and enjoy meeting a lot of fellow amateur radio operators . |

Later that evening I was home running a 1b classification station. I helped give the club some points by making the simplex contact on 2 meter sideband. |
