Some people prefer to purchase in 2 packs as it makes it easy to learn how to use all the radios features.
This is a full feature FRS radio. it is ultra compact, and features a folding antenna. 14 channels and scanning feature.

The scanning feature worked very well. the auto squelch did a fine job.

The electronic volume and channel selector was wonderful as it allowed operation of the radio with just 1 hand.

This model also features a lock button. You lock the control pad and then you can be confident that you are always on the correct frequency and that the radio did not get bumped off the memory channel you were operating on.

The power saver extended the operating time and the AAA batteries gave exceptional long service between charging. ( I use and recommend that you us rechargeable batteries, using rechargeable batteries pays for themselves many times over verses purchasing alkaline batteries.)  READ MY RECHARGEABLE BATTERY REVIEWS HERE

We tested the built in VOX by attaching the radio via the belt clip to the sun visor of the truck and did the same in the car. the hands free operation was great. we were able to maintain contact over a 1/2 mile or better distance on the interstate and 4 to  5 blocks in town.
Overall rating on these units is 9.
