The world book on CD consist of three CD ROMs, the installation is simple
and straightforward . The basic lookup of information is done by
keeping the CD-ROM in the computer and typing in the search words that
you want information on.
One of the features that I like most about the information at the CD provided on the topic that you did the search on was that the information provided was just the right amount . The information provided gave the main details about the item that you did a search on, so that you received a good understanding about it. Photos are provided along with the returned text from the item that you did a search on . Most of the photos were in color and the quality of the photos was excellent being on CD-ROM the searches were always fast and the pictures opened quickly also . The world book on CD is updated every year the new version is always identified easily by the fact that it is maintained and updated based on the current year . The version that I am reviewing here is the 2003 deluxe edition. For students using the world book on CD for research and homework will eliminate in most cases the need to go to the library . The CD provides thousands and thousands of pages of information that is available at your fingertips just a few mouse clicks away . The second CD was titled how to study and it offered information that not only made the information contained on the CD readily available but also made the looking up of information fun and easy . And, The third CD was titled student dictionary . It was very easy to use . You just type in words, and instantly you have a complete description in five to twenty words about what you typed in. The return information was very concise and in some cases offered two or three variable types of information describing the word. Even though it is called a student dictionary, I think that people of all ages will find it very informative . I also discovered that the world book contains a webpage creator . I gave it a try in created a three page web site to view the website just click on the word ENTER highlighted in blue and you can view the website that I created. It was always quick and easy, the more I used it the more I enjoyed it.
