WIRING A CEILING LIGHT BY JIM BAUDO |
|
electricity is very dangerous! it is imperative that the electricity is turned off at the fuse box. if you don't fully understand what you are about to do. call a professional to do the work! |
wiring
a ceiling light in many cases is as easy as turning off the electricity
at the fuse box, removing the cover giving access to the wiring.
usually the electric leads from the fixture are mated by twist on wiring connectors the last 40 to 45 years. some older than that may be covered with electrical tape. if tape was used, make the new connection using twist on wiring connectors, some times supplied with the new fixture. they are available at the hardware store. connect the black to black and white to white wires with the twist on wiring connectors. push the wires gently back in the box and attach the fixture cover. |
| turn on the electricity, and then pat your self on the back for a job well done. DO IT YOURSELF SAVINGS $60.00 TO $150.00 |
