Well. Could'nt sell my Yaesu VX5R fast enough as soon as I heard of the ICT90A release here in Australia. Looks like they came from the same factory but the Icom finish is far superior! No rough edges, real belt clip for quick draw and much easier to operate one handed. Oh, and a PROPER Mic/speaker socket. Try the HM75 Spkr/Mic, its programable from the radio, nice. AT LAST, A hand held with attenuator. Well done Icom. If your thinking of buying, just do it. You will be satisfied. If you've got a VX5R, sell it! The TX sensitivity is without question improved over the VX5R (probably why Icom include an attenuator). How did Icom do it? (sensitivity wise) specs look similar to VX5R. As for the L O N G charge time, oh well, I'll wait the 15 hours or buy a fast charger. Best money spent since IC706MK2g, IC756. Regards, Mark Regan VK2ZB |

| I just duplex, and it appears to work. I
set VFO B to 146 MHz and VFO A to 446 MHz, then went to the SET menu and
turned SPLIT on. Returning to the VFO, the display indicated
"446.000 SPA". I listened on my scanner and made a quick
test xmission, which came out on 146 MHz (which was also indicated on
the display while PTT was pressed). Then I pushed the VFO button
and the display changed to "146.000 SPB". I keyed the
PTT and the rig xmitted on (and dispalyed) 446 MHz. I didn't test the *receive* function -- I assume the rig was actually receiving on the displayed frequency. 73 de Bill, KR8L/9 |

| KR8L/9" <kr8l@hcis.net> Press and hold the BAND key while powering up radio, gives a full display read-out. Releasing the BAND key allows radio to continue normal power-up. | ||||||||||||
