Caring for Cutlery BY JIM BAUDO

Knives should be stored in a wooden knife block or on a magnetic rack. You can also purchase a partitioned knife holder for your kitchen drawer. This will prevent the blades from getting nicked or damaged by other kitchen tools.

knife handles are USUALLY made of a special non-porous material that is dishwasher safe. If you are using knives that have wooden handles, do not leave in water as this will loosen the handle from the metal. Always dry your knives thoroughly.

Never use a kitchen knife other than for cutting food.
