Quikut is a division of the Scott Fetzer Company owned by Berkshire Hathaway. The company began as the Clyde Casting Company in Clyde, Ohio almost a century ago. Our first knives were manufactured in Fremont, Ohio. The plant moved to its present location in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas in 1990. The industrial complex also houses a sister division, Douglas Products, a manufacturer of the ReadiVac line of vacuums for the home. This division has its roots in Bronson, MI where it began manufacturing operations in 1940. Upon acquisition by Berkshire Hathaway it was moved to its present day location in 1968. Quikut products are sold in retail and sporting goods outlets. Demonstrators sell them at fairs and home shows. Our Ginsu knives were featured in one of the country's first infomercials. Despite the fact these commercials gave comedians good material for jokes, the people who bought these knives were delighted with their purchases and continue using those same knives today.
