N0RSE  COMMENTS Well, I of course LOVE my Kenwood TS-2000X. There's just nothing
like it out there that I know of. NEVER have owned a radio like this before. NICE!

OK, now that I got that out of the way. I have NO Complaints really. Let's see. What should it have that it doesn't. Well, a second preAMP like the Icom I have would be nice I guess. Two levels. On those really weak signals, the second level is nice.

Hmm! Well, there may be something else but I can't think of it. I have yet to figure the whole thing out. Haven't used the Satellite portion of it yet. Not even sure how. I've never used the Satellites before.

The packet leaves something to be desired I suppose, but I just ordered a Rig Blaster, so.. That should take care of that.

I love the built in DXCluster function. For you DX guys out there, nice huh? Although I had a friend here in town, I live in Tucson, that had loads of trouble with that function. Could not get it to work. I think he's on his 3rd radio now, and I don't know how it came out. But, mine works!

Anyone played with all the remote capabilities of the thing yet? I realize that the Sky Command has never gotten FCC approval. Last I read Kenwood is trying some new approach. A waiver didn't work so I think now they are actually trying to change the rules? Good Luck!

But, of course nobody would ever use it without FCC approval!

I use mine with a Henry 2K Classic AMP, along with a Heil Goldline, and boom, and what a combination. I could use a better antenna, but as you an imagine, I can plug it into the Screendoor, and talk most anywhere. And it sounds NICE! Or so I've been told.

That brings me to another subject. Anyone out there using a MiniDisc Recorder, or otherwise and mixer, to record on the air conversastions and play them back with the TS-2000?

I had an idea that rather than use an expensive thing like a CD Recorder, and mixer, that one could use a computer and WAV files, and something like the MFJ 1275 to do the same thing. I asked MFJ about it but. Their software doesn't support such a thing but it seems to me that the 1275 already has the appropriate connections
and hardware.

Well, just a thought. I heard some guy on 17 meters a while back, playing back conversations, and I was impressed. Some of those guys sounded TERRIBLE! :-) But now they know they have to fix something.

I mean, doesn't everyone want to know what they actually sound like on the air? I'd like to do this if anyone has an idea for equipment. Especially any ideas on using the computer, and sound card, rather than ALL that expensive STUFF!

I also just ordered a Rig Blaster for use with it, as I think I mentioned above. We'll see how that works out for the Digital modes. Anyone else with a Rig Blaster on their TS-2000?

I think I saw there are only 5 members here so.. I guess my replies are limited. But.. Maybe if we post! Someone else will post? And join?

Contact me anytime concerning the TS-2000. Let's Meet on HF! Compare notes? There are a LOT of settings for sure. Anyone figured out a good TXFilter custom arrangement for use with the Heil Goldline? I'm using 'Conventional', on the TX Equalizer, and as I say, I get good reports. Same on RX too but..

Ok. Enough for now!
