HERE I used batteries and the SUN CATCHER EXPEDITION solar panels to run the station I operated at a recent training exercise. You can charge the batteries, or you can go right direct to the radio. Besides contacting other Ham radio operators, I am able to call a switchboard, connect with the phone system and make phone calls. this is called a autopatch CALL. I was also utilizing the irlp in omaha. more than 545 are now IN OPERATION world wide. i PUNCHED THE NODE NUMBER INTO MY MICROPHONE KEYPAD, AND SHOWED how I was able to call a station in on other part of the world to transfer a test VOICE message via radio over the Internet. |
