and be seen! The Photon FusionŽ brings versatility and function
together in a new design. Incredibly energy efficient with a powerful
full spectrum beam, the Photon Fusion illuminates your work or play area
with a clear shadow free light. Electronic switching offers users a
choice of three levels of brightness, three levels of strobe, and an
auto shutoff. The secondary "Hyper-Bright" button will give
you instantaneous full, steady light. Light is produced by six powerful
LED's (light emitting diodes). The water resistant Photon Fusion is also
a hand flashlight easily disconnected from the head strap. This design
allows convenient hand or table top use. The adjustable indexed head
provides for a focused beam that will stay where you direct it. An
easily replaceable lens guarantees the ability to always have the
brightest possible light. Quick and easy AA battery change enables
worldwide use. Runs on Carbon, Alkaline, NiCad,
NiMH, or Lithium cells. All contacts are gold-plated. Bike
taillight/headlight use is possible with optional mounting bracket and
accessories (coming soon). The Photon Fusion has been designed for long
life and rugged use by the serious user.
Your world is larger than a sheet of paper. Typically, light output measurements of a flashlight are taken by calculating the amount of light projected onto a spot about the size of an 8.5x11 sheet of paper. The Fusion has been designed for real-world use by real people, and produces a broad beam of bright light to give you full peripheral vision. Operation: The large glow-in-the-dark oval-shaped button on the top of the Fusion actually contains two switches. One side functions as a basic on/off switch & allows selection of the 7 different functions listed below. To select the next mode in the sequence, simply hold down the mode button. If you continue to hold the button, it will cycle to the next mode after approximately 2 seconds. The other half of the button activates the "Hyper-Bright" function described below. The regulated power supply of the Fusion keeps the light at full brightness until the batteries are almost dead. high
bright - at this level we estimate approximately a 12 hour battery
life fast strobe - similar to a typical "strobe light" medium strobe - for signaling or use as a bike tail lamp. SOS strobe - for emergency signaling. auto shut-off w/ built-in battery indicator - ramps up high brightness and after approximately one minute, will turn itself off. Before it turns off, an internal battery tester will measure the strength of the batteries on a scale of 1-5. The light will flicker once and then ramp down from high bright to off over a period of between 1-5 seconds. The stronger the batteries are, the longer it will take to ramp down. THIS IS A GREAT SAFETY FEATURE. IF YOU ARE RIDING A BIKE THE LIGHT WILL NOT JUST TURN OFF. "Hyper-Bright": When you really need a LOT of light, just press the Hyper-Bright button. This gives you even more light, but at the cost of a reduced battery life. We figure a fresh set of batteries will run for about 6 hours in Hyper-Bright. The hyper-bright button is disabled when the light is switched into the auto-shutoff mode. SMASH protection: The Fusion features a SMASH protection circuit to help prevent the light from being turned on and draining the batteries when it is packed in with all your gear. If the button is pressed down for longer than 30 seconds, it will automatically shut off and go into the auto shut-off mode in case it gets pressed again. Weight: approx. 103.6 grams w/out batteries (or 176.6 grams w/ 3 AA Alkaline batteries). |

| I WAS VERY ANXIOUS TO RECEIVE THIS LIGHT IN TIME FOR OUR NATIONAL FIELD DAY EVENT. THIS YEAR IT WAS BEING HELD LOCALLY AT A CITY PARK THAT WE HAD A SPECIAL OVER NIGHT PERMIT FROM THE CITY SO AS TO HAVE OUR EQUIPMENT IN OPERATION FOR THE 24 HOUR EVENT. I HAD VOLUNTEERED TO HELP WITH PATROL DUTIES TO WATCH OVER THE VALUABLE EQUIPMENT WE WERE USING IN THE PARK. I PLANED TO DO MY PATROLLING ON MY BIKE. I FELT CONFIDENT THAT WITH THE PHOTON FUSION LIGHT AND MY MAGLITE THAT I WOULD BE FULLY EQUIPPED FOR MY 4 HOUR SHIFT I WOULD BE PATROLLING THE PARK. | |||||||||||||

| 8/1/2002 NEW ITEM THIS IS EMAIL I RECEIVED. Photon XLight, it is a Light for everyone. The Photon XLight is a lower cost light that is just as powerful as the other Photons with a pulse operated on/off mode. As you know the Photon products are a quality product and are far above anything made overseas. XLight is easy to change the lithium batteries, cool translucent CANDY colored cases and come in 4 colors, Red, White, Blue and Green. See them and buy them at www.photonmicro.com .
